Get the feel for the earth mix
Mulch is like a cloak over the soil. It protects the soil and keeps it alive. In nature if there is bare soil it is quickly covered. How can we work with nature to optimize our growing?
In this workshop we will;
– discuss the benefits of mulch, types of mulch, cover crops, and some of the basic principles of what to use where.
-look at strategies for using and growing your own mulches -succession, companion planting…and have a look at what these practices look like in a garden. Photo courtesy of Katie Horrocks.
Venue is 20 mins from Whakatane – to be advised on booking.
