Oriana Singers Inc is a mixed-voice (SATB) choir with members from the greater Tauranga area. Choir members come from a variety of musical back-grounds, with some having never sung in a choir before to those who have sung in choirs for over twenty years.
The choir’s repertoire is varied, has wide appeal, and changes throughout the year.
When: Rehearsals on Tuesdays 7pm-9pm
Where: St Andrews Church, Cnr Dee & Macville Streets, Mount Maunganui
Cost: $55 annual subscription. New members initially have an informal audition (to ensure you are placed in the correct voice part) with the choir director, and if suitable, are then invited to join in with rehearsals.
If you’d like to know more about the choir, then do make contact – we’d love to hear from you. We would especially love to have more men join us!
Purify the Body and Calm the Mind
Replace chaos with calm leading up to Christmas with this mind/body practice.
Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a traditional self-cultivation practice based on the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. Easy to learn, the practice includes four gentle standing exercises to purify the body and a seated meditation to calm the mind.
Around the world, millions of people from all walks of life and all ages have taken up the practice and report dramatic health improvements, clarity of thought, more energy and a deeper spiritual awareness.
True health comes from cultivating both mind and body.
Classes are free, no bookings required.
Wear comfortable clothing, bring a mat or similar for the meditation. Come along and give it a try in a supportive atmosphere.
The Challenge of Chess for the whole family
