Tauranga Astronomical Society

Please note that visitors are always welcome to view through the telescopes at any time throughout the program (weather permitting).

The meeting starts at 7:30pm. We have a 10 – 15 minute tea / coffee break (gold coin donation welcome) at around 8:30pm before the second half starts at 8:40pm. The main meeting will normally finish by 9:30pm. Telescope viewing may continue after 9:30pm, weather permitting and depending on the visibility of suitable objects.

Meetings are held in the Otumoetai Sports and Recreation Club building, Fergusson Park, end of Tilby Drive, Matua, Tauranga on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at 7:30 pm. Presentations are given on current astronomical topics. All those interested in astronomy in the Bay of Plenty district are invited to attend.

Entry for non-members is $5 per adult. 12 Month membership is $30.00 for individuals, $40.00 for families, or $10.00 for tertiary students.

Ballet Class for Adults

one-hour ballet class at the Dance Education Centre, specifically created for adults. A class for those who love ballet, those who have the interest and didn’t get the opportunity earlier, and those who have children learning and want to know more.

Good music, fun and great for mind, body and soul. Ballet shoes required and comfortable dance or exercise wear.

Thursdays, 6.30 pm -7.30 pm, in our Matua studios. Free trial class available.  Learn more
