Tauranga Astronomical Society:

Tonight’s Topic: TBA

The meeting starts at 7:30pm. We have a 10 minute break at around 8:30pm before the second half starts at 8:40pm. The main meeting will finish at around 9:15pm. Telescope viewing may continue after 9:30pm weather permitting and depending on the visibility of suitable objects.

Meetings are held in the Otumoetai Sports and Recreation Club building, Fergusson Park, end of Tilby Drive, Matua, Tauranga on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm. Presentations are given on current astronomical topics. All those interested in astronomy in the Bay of Plenty district are invited to attend.

Entry for non-members is $5 per adult. Children (15 and under) are free. 12 Month membership is $40.00 for individuals, $50.00 for families, or $20.00 for tertiary students. Please note that there is NO EFTPOS available, so cash only please.

Ballet Class for Adults

one-hour ballet class at the Dance Education Centre, specifically created for adults. A class for those who love ballet, those who have the interest and didn’t get the opportunity earlier, and those who have children learning and want to know more.

Good music, fun and great for mind, body and soul. Ballet shoes required and comfortable dance or exercise wear.

Thursdays, 6.30 pm -7.30 pm, in our Matua studios. Free trial class available.  Learn more

Tauranga Astronomical Society:

Coming up at our next meeting on Tuesday 13 April at 7:30pm…
We will take a look at the latest news in astronomy and spaceflight, including updates from the Ingenuity Drone and Perseverance Rover which recently landed on Mars.
Weather permitting, viewing of deep sky objects (star clusters and nebulae etc) may be possible through our telescopes, including our largest telescope, a 14 inch scope (Meade LX200 SCT).
