Exciting workshop collaboration taught by Adele from Fine & Dandy ( the oilcloth stool specialist). For those who have already started painting or just want to add some upholstery skills to their repertoire and make a super cool footstool / storage cube to boot!! This is such a cool project and these classes will fill up fast!
In this 3 hour morning class you will learn:
Beginner stuffing and wadding skills and tips
How to correctly add fabric upholstery
Beginner skills in using upholstery tools and equipment
How to pair your current paint skills with upholstery to create a useful storage footstool
This is a hands-on class where you will learn upholstery techniques to create a hinged seat pad, basic painting, sanding and how to attach componentry to make your storage footstool decorative and useful. Your footstool will be completed on the day, ready for you to take home.
The price covers Fine & Dandy training and guidance throughout to learn the correct techniques. You will take home valuable knowledge on how to apply these to projects in your home, as these upholstery skills form the basis of more complicated upholstery skills. It also includes access to ALL the supplies required, paints, brushes, wadding, componentry, and crate to complete your footstool.
YOU will need to bring 1/2 metre of medium weight fabric for your footstool top. e.g. cotton or drill. No sacking or wool. There will also be a selection of vintage fabric for purchase on the day of the class if you are unsure about your choice.
Note: you have a choice of a neutral and blue paint colour for your crate so we suggest you choose a fabric that ties in with one of these paint colours.
On the day of your class, you will be offered 10% off all craft purchases from the Paint Me Vintage shoppe ( excludes furniture and decor items).
