Tauranga Astronomical Society:
March 9 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm -
Coming up at our next meeting on Tuesday 9 March at 7:30pm…
We will review some of the best free astronomy software and tools. We will take a look at the latest news in astronomy and spaceflight, including the recent SpaceX Starship SN10 flight test. Weather permitting, from around 8:30pm, it may be possible to view some deep sky objects (star clusters and nebulae) through our largest telescope, a 14 inch scope (Meade LX200 SCT).
The meeting starts at 7:30pm. We have a 10 minute break at around 8:30pm before the second half starts at 8:40pm. The main meeting will finish at around 9:15pm. Telescope viewing may continue after 9:30pm weather permitting and depending on the visibility of suitable objects.
Meetings are held in the Otumoetai Sports and Recreation Club building, Fergusson Park, end of Tilby Drive, Matua, Tauranga on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm. Presentations are given on current astronomical topics. All those interested in astronomy in the Bay of Plenty district are invited to attend.
