Learn what rules you can break when using cold wax what special benefits (namely, amazing texture) come with this medium.   See what kind of paints to reach for and discover the simple tools you will need. Explore the surfaces that will work best when working with cold wax. and  how you can combine it with other art mediums such as mixed media, photography, painting and encaustic wax.

A final Cold Wax painting has several layers and with drying time, can take weeks to complete. You will however, come away with a better understanding of the Cold Wax painting process and the possible beginnings of a painting you can continue to work on at home/studio.

“It’s a rare occurrence for one specific painting medium to have a whole genre of painting associated with it, but Cold Wax Medium is one such medium. Cold Wax Painting is not defined by subject matter nor the degree of realism or abstraction, Cold Wax Painting is unified by artists’ shared interest in experimentation, texture and the physicality of paint layers.”

Sue lives in NZ permanently after over 20 years of living in Greece coming back to NZ and do go back there once or twice a year. She is recognized for her bold and colourful work in different mediums that create structure, depth, movement and texture.
