Tauranga Film Society

For film buffs wanting a break from the mainstream

The Tauranga Film Society has announced its programme for 2018 featuring the best in foreign, documentary and independent films.

The films range from classics like  Lady of Shanghai and Seconds staring Rock Hudson to physical comedy like Mon Oncle, a documentary on Marlon Brando, a number of French films and even a psychedelic sci-fi animated feature called Fantastic Planet.  It’s a good mix. A lot of the films do not come out on general release.

Join the Society

Cost: $90 ($80 Seniors) for a full 12 month membership which covers the cost of the movies throughout the year. You can join at any time throughout the year. Otherwise there is the option of a 3 movies for $30 deal.

It’s easiest to join in person at Rialto Cinema. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early, and a friendly Film Society committee member will arrange your membership.

The Tauranga Film Society meets monthly on a Wednesday at the Rialto Cinema in Devonport Road. The dates and the programme are on the website.
