Taster Evening January 31st 2017

In January everyone is full of the freshness of a new year and fine resolutions to actually get out and try something, learn something, do something new.

Community Education BOP is here to help.  On Tuesday 31st January, they are again holding an Adult Learners’ Course Taster Evening at the Wesley Church in 13th Avenue, Tauranga.  Close to 30 different courses and activities will be up for sampling. It is an eclectic grouping covering a wide range of interests.

Bread making, cheese making and cake decorating will cater to those with a culinary bent; the artistically inclined can find out how to draw a human face or about porcelain painting and calligraphy; internationally acclaimed Kim Westerkov is set to inspire us into the realms of great photography; representatives from Toastmasters will help us gain confidence in the domain of public speaking;  if you are a working-with-your-hands type of person, you’ll find kite & coffin making, spinning and weaving, stone polishing, upholstery;  a variety of yoga, meditation and wellness options are there to enhance your lifestyle; finances are on the agenda this year with  presenters  able to tell us about beginner investing and Kiwi Saver, creating breakthroughs to success in business and why economics should matter to us;  there is music and dance – be there at 6pm if you want to salsa , language learning and, a little more outfield, the return of the Psychic Café plus the addition of the UFO and Paranormal Society.

The evening will be held from 5.30pm – 8.30pm.

Come along and be part of Tauranga’s vibrant culture of lifelong learning – we are now NZ’s 5th largest city after all !   Adult education classes are definitely not dead. The Let’s Learn site is just making them more findable. The 30 or so activities listed for the Taster Evening are a small sample of the learning opportunities available. How many more can you find ?

8pm sessions: Make-up, tennis, Pyschic Café, Cake Decorating, Adult, Hobby & Community Short Courses, Pure Meditation.
