Mount Yoga Studio

In today’s busy lifestyles it is often hard to find time to relax and unwind, to be still, and to calm your mind.  In our session tonight, we will move through a Yin Yoga sequence.  Yin Yoga comprises of longer held stretching postures done on the floor.  Yin postures are a great way to increase flexibility and the range of movement in your joints.  In addition, this style of yoga is guaranteed to leave you feeling calm and in a state of bliss.

Rocket Yoga
Rocket Yoga has its roots in the Astanga Vinyasa Yoga series. It combines many of the Astanga postures into a fast-flowing sequence that everyone can do.

Bikram Hot 90
This is the original Bikram Yoga sequence of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises.  It is a 90 minute class done in a heated room, and is “Dialogue” lead, which means the teacher will give you specific instructions as how to set up the postures; how to get into them and what the results of your actions should be.

Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa yoga is a flow style of class based around the Sun Salutation Series and is an athletic style of yoga that will build cardio fitness and upper body strength.  While you may not be familiar with the term “Sun Salutations” you may have heard of Downward Facing Dog, Upward Facing Dog and Warrior pose, which are all Poses done in a Vinyasa class.

Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is practiced in the room with no heat, and is often done by candlelight.  It works the deeper tissues of the body through longer held “gravity” postures, meaning there is no muscular effort to get into a pose, you simply put your body in the right position and then let gravity do the work.  Most of the postures are done on the floor and the focus is on the hips, legs and spine.
