History Talk by Dr Alistair Reese

Hosted by Tauranga Historical Society

This month the Tauranga Historical Society is combining with guides from The Elms and our meeting will be held in The Elms chapel.

Dr Alistair Reese is a farmer, historian and public theologian. He enjoys hiking, horse trekking, swimming in the sea and a good coffee.

For many years Alistair has been preoccupied with reconciliation in Aotearoa NZ, with a particular emphasis on Pākehā identity and how we can live in a colonised land. Much of his speaking and writing reflects on Te Tiriti/Treaty of Waitangi as a doorway to reconciliation. He holds postgraduate degrees in History and Tikanga Māori including a PhD in Public Theology.
